Description: | 300 yd. W. of Monkstone Point, Saundersfoot. Looking WNW. Coal Measures. To show stages in the deformation of alternating laminae of shales and sandstones. In the bottom left-hand corner the laminae are unbroken. Towards the centre of the photo they are broken and devoid of arrangement. Above a diagonal syncline, and to the left of the thicker of two ribs of a anticline the fragments tend to become parallel so as to give the rock a bedded appearance, to the right of the thinner of the two sandstones there is a similar and in which the fragments of sandstone are drawn out into eyes. |
