Description: Littlemore Railway-cutting Quarry. Looking NNW. Section of Lower and Upper Corallian Beds at Littlemore. The thick prominent rock-band forms the base of the Upper Corallian and is equivalent to the Trigonia Bed of the Lamb and Flag Pit, near Kingston Bagpuize. The overlying beds are clays and thin argillaceous limestones: these occupy the stratigraphical position of the coral-rag and rubbly oolitic limestones of Headington, etc. In this view one of the curious nodular masses of argillaceous limestone is shown.
