Description: Wast Water, N. of Wasdale Hall. Looking SW. The Screes of Wast Water. These famous screes, which are made up of material derived from the crags of the Borrowdale Volcanic Series, commence at a height of about 1,500 ft. O.D. and descend to below lake level (200 ft. O.D.). The inclination of the screes is approximately 38 degrees.
