Description: The 19th century main residence at Ardverikie on the shores of Loch Laggan. The view from the main driveway. It is situated on a green flat, at the head of a small bay on the south-east side of Loch Laggan. The mansion was built in 1840 by the Marquis of Abercorn and was occupied by Queen Victoria from 21st August to 17th September 1847, who described it as 'a comfortable shooting-lodge'.
