| Description: | the Bahmis are a tribe living in mountainous Kuhgalu, South West Persia. Like all highland neighbours, they gather acorns - Balut in Persian - steep, dry and grind them to flour, with which to augment their meagre stock of wheat flour. On 16th November, 1933, these Bahmis girls were on their way down to their tents at Tang, Chavil, laden with sacks of acorns. the long sticks they carry are used to knock the sound acorns off the trees. The windfalls are often wormy. |
