Description: Portstewart, The Crescent. Looking NE. Basalt lavas on the foreshore, The Crescent. A series of thin lava flows dipping north-east at 20 degrees. The compact, more resistant flow bases form long promontories at low water while the soft tops have been eroded to give narrow gullies.
