Description: | Cliff, W. bank of River Eden, about 2 m. ESE of Cotehill Station, 800 yd. ENE of Low House. Looking W. Brockram in Penrith Sandstone. This conglomerate-breccia consists almost entirely of Carboniferous Limestone fragments, with very rare sandstone fragments. The fragments vary from subangular to well-rounded forms. The conglomerate passes upward into Penrith Sandstone. A band of sandstone rich in dark red shale fragments up to 4 in. in length is seen above the conglomerate. (See also A4085.) |
